Run Away Review: A Comforting, Yet Complex, Thriller with a Star-Studded Cast
The world of television thrillers is a busy place, with new adaptations seemingly arriving every week. Harlan Coben's work is a familiar sight, and his collaborations with Netflix and Amazon have become a staple for fans of the genre. This eight-episode series, written by Danny Brocklehurst, Tom Farrelly, and Amanda Duke, and based on the book of the same name, showcases the director's signature style. It stars James Nesbitt as Simon, a tormented father whose daughter, Paige, is struggling with drug addiction. Meanwhile, Elena is hired by a wealthy man, Sebastian Thorpe, to find his missing adoptive son, Henry, whose disappearance is being ignored by the police. Elena's investigation takes an unexpected turn when she becomes involved in surveillance for reasons unknown, all while searching for Henry. Additionally, a pair of young murderers, seemingly acting on behalf of a third party, add another layer of complexity to the narrative.
